With its important monuments and beautiful surrounding countryside, Cividale del Friuli is famous for its Roman and Longobard history which evokes the legends and splendour of those ages. In the beauty of this region of Italy our wine cellars and vineyards were inherited from Count Ugo di Manzano and his noble family and are now owned by his grand-daughter Giovanna Tavagnacco. Our family-run business has been producing a limited quantity of quality DOC wines for 30 years. The vineyards are situated in one of the most esteemed wine growing areas in Italy, in the foothills of the Friuli Alps. This narrow strip of marly-arenaceous hills lies directly between the Alps and the Adriatic sea. The unrivalled beauty of this hillside, with its pure air and strong sun contributes to the distinctive character, colour and bouquet of our wines.

Our wine business has always been committed to the improvement of our vines and the running of our wine cellar. We have been renewing our vineyards and production centre since 1975 but always re-specting our important traditions.

With our long-standing experience, we have also been able to make use of modern technology to produce vintage wines. The wine cellar has a thermoregulation system and part of the wine cellar is now in steel and part in cement. We also use Slavonian oak barrels for the refining and ageing of our wines. The overall capacity of our cellar is 1000hl.
